How learning works at SRH

Updated 6 October 2026

Active learning, problem solving, group work – and three things to remember.

Learning is not passive storage — it is the active construction of knowledge. You have to act for yourself, and we help you to do so.

What this means for you

  • You may be used to learning by heart, but the goal is not to repeat — it is to solve problems independently.
  • Lecturers will deliberately not always tell you how things work; they want you to find out by yourself.
  • Many exams let you show these competencies, e.g. project work and case studies.
  • Some exams are passed as a group, because social competence only develops by interacting with others.

Three things to remember

  1. Be proactive: your learning is your responsibility.
  2. Be curious: experiment, code, question and build.
  3. Be professional: with your peers, lecturers and industry partners.
