Using the site without statistics cookies

You can read all content without accepting cookies. In that case we only count page views anonymously (a total per page and per day). No cookie is set for this and no IP address or browser details are stored.

Search terms you enter are stored anonymously (the text and the number of results, without any link to you) so we can find out which information is missing.

Statistics with your consent

If you click Accept in the cookie notice, we set a statistics cookie and record for each page you open:

• a random visitor ID stored in the cookie vid,
• your IP address,
• your browser identification (user agent) and the device type, browser and operating system derived from it,
• your browser language,
• the page you opened, the date and time, and the website you came from (referrer).

Purpose: to understand how the information is used (for example which topics are read, on which devices and at what times) and to improve the content. The data is only visible to the administrators of this site and is not passed on to third parties. No external tracking or advertising services are used.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG).

Storage period: detailed statistics are deleted automatically after 400 days. The cookies expire after 180 days; after that we ask again.

Withdrawing consent: you can change your choice at any time further down on this page. Withdrawal does not affect processing before it; you can also delete the statistics stored for your browser yourself.

Administrator login

To protect the site against password guessing, the IP address of failed administrator logins is stored for up to 48 hours (legitimate interest in IT security, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your data, the right to data portability and the right to object (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW).
